The only problem with this bag is that you lose a compartment when you use it as a backpack. We needed all of the compartments to carry the necessities for a trip, so this bag was not going to work for our purposes, but is a well-made, good-looking bag.

Nice Bag for Carry On
First off, I am not a frequent flyer or even an infrequent flyer! I bought this bag because I was afraid the duffle bag I have used in the past would be too big to fit in the overhead. I like the way this bag looks, it’s well made and seems to be pretty versatile. I used it to carry a 14″ laptop, charger, toiletries, a change of clothes and a heavy coat. All fit in it nicely, including my itinerary which was easily accessible. I was able to keep it on the floor in front of me, although it didn’t seem to fit completely beneath the seat in front of me, it was fine. It was nice to be able to keep it with me on the first plane. One my next flight, a prop jet for a short 1/2 hour flight, it fit easily into the overhead compartment.All in all it did what I needed and it fit nicely into the trunk of the little2018 MX-5 RF Club, which I drove nearly 500 miles, to get it to it’s new home!I did not use the shoulder strap, although it would have made it easier to carry for the long walk from one end of Portland Int’ to the other. I haven’t used it as a backpack yet either, although this may be the best way to carry it, as I saw a lot of experienced flyers using backpacks

Meh…don’t expect too much of a pack
Backpack is nice and seems durable. Why three stars? Well, pack is smaller than anticipated and very flimsy meaning there is no back support at all. In pics they have tiny people wearing these packs to make them look larger, lol!One would have to place a piece of plastic inside to give more support. When carrying backpack on back the top of the pack digs into the back of neck making VERY uncomfortable! Definitely not a pack you want to hike with or walk long distances unless you want it sagging down!Believe it’s over priced for what it is. Don’t like the huge piece of Velcro on top exposed because it gets caught up in clothes and messes them up. They could have at least used the softer Velcro side instead of the abrasive side! If I keep pack will probably unstitch the Velcro’s and switch them out, ugh…Pack seems sturdy and double to triple stitched in many places which is good. I wouldn’t recommend this pack for a trek unless you place it on an external frame or modify it. It has a decent amount of space inside for what it is but don’t expect too much. So in conclusion, it’s a nice travel pack for a short distance walk. In fact wouldn’t even recommend using back straps at all. Just stick with the shoulder strap.So in all it gets a meh…Trying to decide if it should be returned or just keep it and make mods…Makes a nice showpiece though, LOL!

Basically a duffle with backpack straps.
First let me say I haven’t traveled with this bag yet, I’m leaving next week and I’ll update this review then.As for now, looking at the bag it appears well made, the straps are comfortable and the zippers and snaps function smoothly. The only real negative I have about it is the side zip for the main compartment. I didn’t really notice this when I was purchasing the bag and the flap on the front gives the impression that you can get in from the top, however I believe this bag was mainly situated for side carry as the pen and accessory pockets inside the main compartment are facing the side of the bag with no straps to hold items in place.I’m going to keep the bag and see how it goes, overall I’m happy with it, just wish the side zipper went all the way around.

Great style, great looks, sturdy, roomy, and well worth it.
I purchased this for a recent trip to replace my old standard soft-side luggage/carryon bag. I was impressed with how much I could fit in the bag and still have it be small enough for a carryon. I went for a 7 day trip and got all my clothes and a second pair of shoes in the bag. The straps to tighten down the sides really helped. The whole bag is water resistant canvas with a waterproof lining inside the main compartments. Being able to zip the backpack straps inside a cover on the plane was very helpful. I also enjoyed the style of the bag, as it looks more rugged than a standard luggage bag and can be used in more situations, such as camping, fishing, day trips, as well as carrying my laptop and work materials on a daily basis. I highly recommend this bag.

Dumb Design
Maybe I just travel differently for the other reviewers, but every time I travel with this thing, I’m ready to pull my hair out within the first day. The dumb “load through the side” main compartment, combined with the “load through the top” other compartments, means that at any given *something* is going to be 90 degrees off it’s normal orientation. So what do you do with a bottle of perfume. Or water? Not that there’s a place for a bottle of water.You have to pack the main compartment through a zipper on one side that is shorter than the compartment is long. Ever tried to stuff an envelope with the flap stuck partly closed? Yeah, it’s like that. Try keeping everything organized.And the outer pockets seem to have been designed just for show. Only one doesn’t use space from the main compartment. If the main compartment is full, these aren’t useable. The one truly outside pocket is too small for the usual random selection of phones, earbuds, external batteries, charging bases, wires, medications, etc. that go with long periods of transit time.Dumb, dumb, DUMB design.

This duffle/backpack was amazing. It holds a tremendous amount of stuff-books, clothes, snacks, and anything I needed was easily accessible without digging it all out. It was carried by the handle but primarily it was worn on my back. I LOVE it and will take it on my next adventure as well.

Three Continents and Still Better Than Whatever You’re Using Right Now
I bought this to take on a trip. This backpack saved me while traveling across the U.S., and also to Germany, Turkey, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Belgium…it survived extortion in an airport, numerous security tear downs and going from a snowstorm to extreme near-equator level heat in less than a day without so much as a thread breaking or a flap coming loose – and that was just January. Next to my Keene boots, this backpack saved me on three different continents. Granted it hasn’t gone through an actual fire or explosion yet, but its still a good backpack. It has numerous packing spaces, and if you keep the back zipped (carry it as a satchel), you can fit even more in the back. The straps will tighten down enough so that you can make this a carry-on bag no matter what is crammed into it. You could buy some pretty little apathetic pack and take your chances, or you can be an adult and buy a real backpack that protects your stuff so you can worry about more important things.

Shoulder straps seem sturdy for normal use. Holds a few days’ worth of clothes. Currently using it for my weekend getaway bag. My only gripe is there is no zipper or opening on the top of the bag.

It works great with some short falls
I travel constantly and this bag has held up great. It does not hold up its shape, don’t expect it to look like it does in the picture. Luckily that has worked out well since I can stuff it under the plane seat. My biggest complaint is the design of the interior and exterior pockets. The interior pockets work well as a duffel bag, but if you switch to backpack mode then everything falls out. There are no Velcro loops to hold things in place. The exterior pockets share space with the interior area, so if you pack the interior then it is next to impossible to slide even a phone into the exterior zipper pockets.

GGREAT BAG
This bag is well made and has lots of pockets to keep your belongings organized. This bag can be a backpack, shoulder bag or carried. Nice feature to have a roll up cover if using as a backpack. The bag will be great for a weekend adventure for clothing and meets airline carryon requirements. This bag also has a sleeve that can be placed over the handle of another bag. Many GREAT Features.

In-between Size
I purchased this to carry my sopranino ukulele on an international carrier that only lets you bring instruments onboard as carryon (or personal bag if smaller enough). I thought with this bag, I could both bring the ukulele as carryon along with a few other items that I usually carry with me. Since it’s supposed to be 22”, I first tried a soprano (the green), but it didn’t fit. Then I tried a sopranino in the case. It also didn’t fit. I maybe could’ve removed the sopranino from the case and forced it in, but I’m not trying to crack an instrument just to use this bag. If I was flying a domestic carrier, I think they’d let me get away with using it as my personal bag. I’m not so sure about the airline that I’m flying… It’s a sturdy bag. I got it during a lightning deal. So, I’m not as perturbed as I would’ve been if I paid full price. I’ll probably use it, but not for the primary reason that I purchased it.

Most of my travel is business related. I’m either traveling for a few days or weeks at a time.I was looking for a bag that works well for the short haul trips. Something that holds a few days worth of clothes, plus toiletries, an extra pair of shoes, a laptop and iPad, easy to pack and has room to spare in case I need to add additional items along the way.Was also looking for a “convertible” bag. Something that could be used as a backpack, a shoulder strap bag, or something with a carry handle. This item fits those requirements. Referencing some prior reviews, if you choose to use packing cubes (Gonex option on Amazon), you can maximize the useful space of the bag.Yes, it’s true, the main access to the bag is through a top zipper across the longest dimension of the bag, but if you choose to use packing cubes, you might be surprised at what fits in the bag.

Worked until it broke
This bag was great to pack in. I was able to fit enough clothes and toiletries for a 7-day trip to the UK. Unfortunately, while walking to the hotel from the tube stop the clip on the shoulder strap broke and I was left carrying my bag by hand for about half a mile (couldn’t use the backpack feature because I already had a camera backpack). Luckily the bag wasn’t heavy so it wasn’t burdensome to carry, but again the bag wasn’t heavy and that bit shouldn’t have snapped.

Well made does-it-all backpack
I’ve been looking at this backpack for months, comparing it to others, price checking. I finally pulled the trigger on this one by WITZMAN and I’m glad I did. It is so well built that I know I’ll be using it for years. Not just a backpack, it’s also a satchel, computer bag and even a weekender bag. It’s nice and roomy, with plenty of separate pockets for sorting and easy access. The shoulder and body straps adjust very easily and are very comfortable. The only thing I would have liked would be a bit of that ‘weathered leather’ panel finish here and there. Otherwise, I can’t find a single thing to complain about. This is a great backpack. Five stars.

Pleasant surprise
Wasn’t sure what to expect at this price point but very happy with it. Ot’s a great 1-3 day travel bag with enough room for a pair of shoes, clothes, laptop and the like. Zip away backpack starts are a nice touch in addition to the shoulder strap. The side zipper is a little odd but I got used to it pretty quickly. I was going to spend 2 to 3 times this price for a weekend bag but this one is great. Highly recommended.

Great travel bag
Went on a 9day summer trip. Pack is smaller than a carryon suitcase, but not considerably. I took that and a large satchel on my trip. Held everything including tablet, book, notebook and a couple other work items.I’m hoping it is as sturdy as I rated it! I’ve only used it once, but seems durable.Love how it looks, it’s lightweight, has lots of pockets.Only downside to me, is I’d like the backpack straps to be on the outside of the pocket they’re in. It would give more room and having to roll the pocket top up and Velcro just seems extra.

Great travel bag but could use some upgrades
I love the look and feel of this bag. I use it mostly for carrying my laptop and workout clothes to work everyday. Occasionally I’ll use it for long hikes, though the lack of a sturdy back support to allow air between you and the bag will make your back sweaty.Recommended for short daily commutes. Not recommended for long hikes or summer walks.All in all I love it. But the only true downside is some of the stitching is coming apart. I would recommend that the producer double stitch the handle and the inside laptop pocket. Other than that, it’s been great.

Lots of Storage
I got this bag for my son to take as his carryon for boot camp. He was able to carry everything he needed with him and had lots of pockets and zippers that kept things separated. Great quality. He repacked it after boot camp and used it as a carry on again.

Okay so this pack was actually not a bad purchase. While packing I was annoyed that the biggest opening for majority of items was only on the side. Made it easier to use as a messenger bag or briefcase of sorts but made travel packing a nuisance. Would I recommend this style for travel where you move around a bit and have to pack and unpack every few days, not necessarily. But I will say I wouldn’t discourage it either. I do genuinely like this bag other than that one issue. I was impressed by the amount of pocket storage and how much I was actually able to pack. the padding on the shoulder straps and the back of the pack itself was nice. I did carry it as a messenger bagAt first and the weight of it dug into my shoulders so I had to switch it up. If there was more of a padding on the shoulder strap that way it might’ve worked better as a messenger bag. Switching to backpack though was an entirely different experience. It was way more comfortable. Easier to carry. Saved my ass on the hills in Edinburgh. Whoever decided to build a fkn city on a mountain like that and have the audacity to build the steps uneven. I know they didn’t have better tools back then but damn. Also no wonder everyone in Scotland is so attractive and athletic. They take the phrase “walked to school uphill both ways” and said “hold my whiskey”.Anyway. The backpack was good. I got used to my packing system quickly. I highly recommend getting packing cubes. They also saved my ass on this trip. But that’s another story entirely.

Great bag
This is a really nice bag for carry on for plane. Lots of alternatives with this bag. One may configure this bag about anyway you want for what suits you. Built of heavy canvas so can take a whipping and still looks real good. Double functional and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. You will like it.

Overall great
The only complaint I could give about this bag is that I wish it had some type of stiff backing so when placed on the ground the bad wouldn’t fall over. Other than that the bag has a good amount of storage and is comfortable to use. Took this for a trip in Greece and got a bunch of complements on it and it functioned well while climbing Mountain Olympus!

Took this to Europe
I’m in my 40’s but still travel like a college student. We just got back from a 2 week trip to Europe and this bag held all of my and my son’s clothes. Full disclosure, I travel with a capsule wardrobe so what that translates into is two medium size packing cubes plus 1 small packing cube.Pros:- aesthetics: I really like the look of it. It has a definite vintage feel.- it distributes the weight really well. Fully packed, it was 9 kilos and I was able to walk 20 minutes over cobblestones while wearing it and it was very comfortable.- it’s big enough if you’re a light packer. If you’re the sort of person who takes multiple pairs of shoes, this is not a good bag for you.- the canvas seems sturdy and the seams are well done. I just retired my very first and only other travel backpack that I’ve used for 25 years. This has been on one trip, so jury is still out, but I also feel like waiting 10 years to review a product is unreasonable.Cons:-the outside pockets are really really shallow. Perhaps if the inside of the bag wasn’t packed full, the outside pockets would be more useful, but they’re not auxiliary space. You can use the front pouch for a book and some charging cables and that’s about it.- it only opens on one side. If you really want to pack this tightly, packing cubes are essential.- the flap that zips to cover the straps is has a strip of velcro on top of the bag. If it’s down and zipped so you can use the bag as an over the shoulder bag, you have a conspicuous and extremely scratchy piece of velcro on the short side (the one that’s the top if it’s a backpack). I will never use it for anything other than a backpack, but I do not like the velcro. I’m not sure how many years before becomes covered in lint and cat hair. I would have preferred ties.

OK, but don’t stuff it.
It is nice that I had it fit under many airline seats traveling to the UK and Canada. This is really a duffle more than a backpack. No top opening, pack like a side duffel. When using as a backpack, there should be a leather handle on the top to grab, not a cloth loop. Oddly there is one on the bottom, but not the top. Zippers look tough, but really are a bit weak, two would pop open if pocket filled to capacity. There should be pocket for things like a water bottle or rings for clipping carabiners. Again, this is really a duffle, not a full service backpack. It did work, but I found myself working to make it work.

Really cool looking bag that it great for flying
I got this bag for my first flight I took recently. It really served me well. It is the perfect size for a stowaway bag up top. I was really worried because I didn’t want to pay for a suitcase to have flown so I just got to carry-on bag and this works great. It carried a week’s worth of clothes, a toothbrush, a couple gifts I had for some friends and it looks really cool. Super durable, no complaints at all. Really really good bag!!

Exactly What I Needed
My backpack was falling apart. I bought this as a replacement. First of all, it’s a handsome bag. I use it for commuting and as a personal item/bag on flights. For me, it’s perfect. It’s very sturdy and roomy. I can fit all of my devices in there. It’s well padded. The straps are sturdy. The bag also discourages theft with all of the clips and flaps. The middle pocket under the flap is a little deep for my purposes and the side zipper is weird for me since I only use this as a backpack, not a messenger, but that’s minor compared to all of the things this bag gets right. If you’re considering it, I’d would say go for it! Especially if you’re a traveler 🙂

Well made and versatile.
Works great as a backpack and a duffel bag. The side zipper instead of a top one makes it really easy to get things in it and organize them instead of cramming them in. Number of pockets and a nice separator in the large compartment

Good trip backpack
The item was delivered on time in good condition. Nice to use on short trips or trips overseas. Only comment for improvement would be the zipper for the main compartment does not zip around the top of the backpack to give you better access. But still a very good backpack.

Pretty cool bag
Soo I really do enjoy it but I do have a smidge of a complaint the iPad pouch is kinda small if you have one of the apple pencils attached to it, the pouch won’t be wide enough so be warned. I usually use that pouch for books so that works. I also wish there was another side pouch on the opposite side and not just the one but it’s not a deal breaker. Other than those small observations I love my new bag! I get a ton of compliments on it, it’s a fun bag, I’ve already sown on a couple of patches. It’sa good purchase!
